Tasks & responsibilities

  • Responsible for the MICE Segment within The Netherlands. Main focus: Amsterdam & Conference Centers due to high contribution MICE & importance of these hotels;
  • Responsible for proactively driving and executing commercial activities to achieve commercial results within the MICE Segment;
  • Responsible for the outbound activities budget & planning (fairs, events etc.) ……..;
  • Responsible to create a (new) strategic MICE Framework and plan to further execute by yourself and the team;
  • Within the MICE Plan, have a clear & SMART Plan with strategies (vision, mission, values), tactical plan (breaks down the strategic plan into more actionable points) & operational plan (more a detailed plan how the team needs to execute). Main focus should be The Netherlands, with a strong look how our company can adapt within the region and Business Unit;
  • Clear vision on short, medium and long term goals how the MICE targets should be met. A possible outline per market or even hotel is desirable. Adapt per business needs and market fluctuations. Short, medium and long term action are extra highlighted in the MICE plan;
  • Feeder market relevance: set up calls with relevant feeder markets  to discuss strategy and actions;
  • Clear understanding of MICE & Overall revenue targets for main hotels in the region & understand budget, forecast & future OTB thus knowing where to adapt.
  • Understand, capture and execute on relevant changes, opportunities, and threats in the MICE market, including competitors, innovative initiatives.
  • Managing team of Mice Account Managers (2-4 FTE): training, coaching, monitoring, giving directions, planning etc.
  • Ensure sales efficiency and good use of the systems, templates, procedures, and input of activities in CRM.
  • Synergize with other team members (corporate team, but also Digital, Leisure etc.) but mainly with teams in important feeder markets, specific for each market and/or hotel;
  • Participate to budget and business plan preparations with projections on forecasted productions of accounts, market trends, account strategic plans etc.
  • Manage preferred MICE Partnerships;
  • Close collaboration and efficient communication with other department heads, within BeNeLux region, BUNE and HQ stakeholders.
  • Maintain and develop good relationships with external key business players, identify and conclude win-win partnerships, participate to networking events.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a Commercial education or Hotel Management school on Bachelor level.
  • Minimum of 5 years Sales experience in a senior role in the Hotel and/or MICE industry
  • Preferably experienced in the Amsterdam MICE market
  • Preferably experienced in attending MICE industry events (IMEX, IBTM, Forums)
  • Pro-active, positive and creative
